Veela Private Island

Hey babes! It’s finally time for the big Maldives travel diary. It was my second time there, but my first at Velaa Privat Island Maldives, the most exclusive resort of the Maldives. It is located in the Noonu Atoll, 187 Kilometers away from Male. You can only get there by seaplane. When you arrive at Male, Velaa Privat Island offers a private limousine service to Velaa Seaplane Lounge, where you can spend some relaxing time with refreshing drinks waiting for the departure. The flight with their own Velaa Privat Island seaplane takes round about 40 short minutes.

After the landing we were warmly welcomed from the staff and our own butler. Abdullah took us directly to our beach pool villa. This one bedroom beach front villa is splendid furnished. Mahogany panels, teak furniture and bamboo lights. I love these materials. You also have an indoor bathroom and a large outdoor bathroom, an own pool, day beds and an alfresco dining area. We stayed there for four nights and had a full schedule experiencing the several activities of the resort.

We could also discover what happens behind the scenes too. It was a great experience to see how good the entire staff (round about 400 people) are living there. Velaa also offers a plant of activities. We were visiting the Watersport, Diving and Yoga area too. They have a covered tenis court where you can play squash, badminton, beach volleyball. A 6 metre climbing wall is also part of it. They even have an own small golf place designed by Jose Maria Olazabal and a golf academy. In their beautiful spa I had a great relaxing massage (you can read all about it in another blogpost) at the over water spa treatment bungalow. They even have a sauna with beach view and a whirlpool. Never felt better!

In the evening we had dinner at the Aragu. This magnificently illuminated place is outstanding. You feel like in a James Bond movie when you are there. It’s almost unreal. Interior goals meets gourmet perfection. Velaa offers several different restaurant possibilities. In Aragu we tasted the modern European cuisine at its best.

Our stay was really short but we had some beach time and created a lot of content for you too. This place is just perfect for photoshoots. (Stay tuned. I will be showing you all through the next weeks). For lunch we often decided to got to the Athiri beach front Restaurant. We often had the delicious Athiri’s signature pizza fresh from the wood-fired oven. They are also open for dinner and offer some light and delicious seafood. There we also had every morning a gorgeous buffet breakfast with am amazing choice of fresh fruits and cooked breakfasts.

At Velaa I also had my very first golf lesson and felt in love with this sport. At our last afternoon a big tropical storm took place and I did something I really love. I took a rain shower with my love and we danced in the rain. So romantic! Just unforgettable. This island and its privacy makes you really feel free to do what your heart needs. There are a lot of romantic highlights to do such as weddings, honeymoons or private dinners…

One of our favorite spots was the Tavaru Restaurant. There you have the most amazing view over Velaa. Sitting on the bar, you can watch the chefs cooking right under your nose. They offer the most fresh and delicious food cooked on hot iron plates of the Teppanyaki grill. We had there our last dinner at Velaa.

Velaa Privat Island is not only the most exclusive and outstanding resort of the Maldives offering the greatest luxury you can get. I think I have to say that I have never met such a friendly and attentive staff. Everywhere on the resort they gave us extraordinary support and always knew our names. xoxo Georgina Moreno.
